Ben’s Bench

In the middle of a dense forest of trees

that takes jumping over branches and crawling on the knees

To get to, a journey of a half an hour

There sits an old bench and 14 flowers

The bench is the strangest bench ever seen

It isn’t dark dry wood, but seems a little green

Upon a close look it does seem as though

The frame springs from the ground below

Like special trees grew in some way

That formed a bench one ancient day

It almost feels soft to sit in, soft and sweet

And there’s even a foot rest for my feet

A circle 30 feet diameter where the sun shines down

Though the dense dark forest of trees surrounds

A little piece of Heaven that happened to be found

By me when I was just a boy

A place of retreat and silence and solitude

Some children don’t have a person to run to

The hollow tree- walk in and big space opens up? Or walk in and it is actually large tree but underground dwelling and dwelling in branches?

Nature entrances and washes my mind and imparts it’s rest to me

Best, you see

I see a sea

I see an ocean

Flowing towards me

In marvelous motion
